What proves we are Christians?
Two scriptures in today's devotional immediately comes to mind; John 12:26;
"Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am."
We follow Jesus first by accepting his sacrifice for us, and then following his examples and teachings.
Next scripture is in John 13:34-35, "So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. "Our love for one another is the best proof that we are Christians. How did Jesus show his love for us? By giving up his glory and dying on a cross. Jesus is telling us to do the same; sacrifice for another and put others first. Our love for one another is a better proof than even signs and wonders, and miracles, and great achievements. Love is the believers' proof they know Jesus. My encouragement, love your others genuinely. Be willing to give and forgive others for Christ's sake.
