Description

"If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth." John 14:15-17. We see the concept of the Trinity in these verses, however, my focus is on Jesus introducing the person of the Holy Spirit and what believer's relationship would be with him along with the Holy Spirit's interaction with the world at large. To the believer, Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Advocate (John 14:16 NLT). Advocates defends the accuse, pleading their case before the Father. The Holy Spirit was going to be our Advocate just like Jesus. Jesus also says about the Holy Spirit; "who will never leave you". In the New testament, the Holy Spirit wouldn't be coming and going anymore like he did in the Old testament, he was coming to take full resident in us. Until now, he had been with the disciples, after Jesus leaves, he would be in them, permanent residence. Also, Jesus says the Holy Spirit is the on who leads into the truth. Jesus himself is the way, the truth and the life, at such, it meant only the Holy Spirit can truly reveal Jesus to the believer. You can't know Jesus and in turn the Father without the Holy Spirit. "When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.
"
John 16:13 NLT. To the rest of the world Jesus say about the work of the Holy Spirit; "And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more.
"
John 16:8‭-‬10 NLT. Righteousness is available but the world and the people of the world rejects it, so the Holy Spirit will convict the world of its sin. Pray with me; Holy Spirit, I want to know you more and more. Take me into a deeper walk with Jesus and the Father.
