In today's devotional, Jesus shares with us the secret to eternal life, to having a relationship with God and to escape the coming judgement on the world.
Nicodemus had come to Jesus and said they knew God was with Jesus because of the miraculous signs he was doing. Jesus said he had it mixed up, the miraculous signs were not really proof God was with him, but that the miracles were proof of who gave birth to him. Jesus said;
"Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”
John 3:3-6, 8 NLT.
It is because we are born of the Spirit, that is why we act like the Spirit in line with our nature. It is because we are born of the Spirit that we are now children of God, and because we are children of God, we are exempted from the judgement that will come on the world.

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
