Description

In today's devotional, we asked ourselves some difficult questions; same questions those following Jesus would have been confronted with.

Our first question was from Jesus' disciples deciding they couldn't follow him anymore because he had told them they needed to eat his flesh and drink his blood;

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.” Then the people began arguing with each other about what he meant. “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” they asked. So Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you."
John 6:51‭-‬53 NLT.

It was so bad the Bible says;

"Many of his disciples said, “This is very hard to understand. How can anyone accept it?” Jesus was aware that his disciples were complaining, so he said to them, “Does this offend you?
John 6:60‭-‬61 NLT.

Question one; if you are a follower of Jesus, what or maybe who can make you stop following him today?

Our next question came from when Jesus was going to be arrested because he had healed a man on the sabbath, was it right to do so or not? Jesus said the problem was their interpretation was that they were not learning to look beneath the surface of issues.

"For if the correct time for circumcising your son falls on the Sabbath, you go ahead and do it so as not to break the law of Moses. So why should you be angry with me for healing a man on the Sabbath? Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly.”
John 7:23‭-‬24 NLT.

Our question wad; are you learning to look beneath so.as to be able to judge correctly?
