Description

In today's devotional, Jesus teaches the disciples on prayer; he taught them both to pray and how to pray. Two broad concepts immediately stands out as you take a closer look at what Jesus said; prayer is first and foremost a relationship with God. The second is the place of persistence in prayer. Jesus said, “This is how you should pray: “Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon.
"
Luke 11:2 NLT. Father, must be the first words out of our mouths when we pray. Jesus is telling us here that prayer is an opportunity for communion with our Father in heaven and building a relationship with him. Prayer is not an opportunity to make demands and to make God do what we think should be, no, it is communicating with a loving Father to know him better.
Secondly, in terms of persistence in prayer, Jesus says; "But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
"
Luke 11:8‭-‬10 NLT. Keep on knocking, don't give up, even when it seems no answer is coming or you don't feel like it. Prayer is a place to meet with God; a Koinonia with the Father. A place to never give up what the Father has shown us until we have an answer. Spend some quality time praying today?
