Description

In Luke 22, we see the betrayal, denial, arrest and trial of Jesus, everyone played their part; Judas betrayed his master with a kiss, the disciples fled and Peter denied Jesus, the soldier, captain of the guards and elders all played their part. My emphasis this morning however is on the significance of dying on that cross. Jesus was not ambushed and dragged there, it was his choice to go to the cross knowing what his death would accomplish for mankind.

"After supper he took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.
Luke 22:20 NLT.

His death was the establishment of a covenant between God and you. His sacrifice guarantees that you can have a relationship with God if you so chose.
Thank you Jesus.
