In today's devotional, we took a look at the resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Luke tells us that at his resurrection, there was enough evidence and from various witnesses that the resurrection happened. We have the report of the soldiers, the 3 women who saw him together, Mary Magdalene saw him, Peter saw him, Cleopas and the other disciples on the road to Emmaus saw him, the 10 disciples saw him together and finally another time with all 11 disciples gathered together with other disciples, Jesus appeared to all the disciples together.
Let's conclude by reminiscing the words of the angels who met the women that went to the tomb;
" They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes. The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee," Luke 24:2-6 NLT.
Jesus is alive today. Halleluyah! Until Jesus' death and resurrection, everyone who died, even when they had a relationship with God, waited in the grave. But by his resurrection, Jesus broke the power of death and the grave.
Walk in the reality of these truth today; death and the grave hold no power over me and you because of Jesus Christ.
There is only one name given under heaven by which men can be saved, it is the name of Jesus Christ.
