What is the most important commandment? What commandment should we pay the most attention to?
When the religious leader, elders and teachers sent someone to trap Jesus with this question, their intention was to accuse him later of not paying attention to some other commandments if he mentioned others. If he said; "thou shall not kill" they will ask him, what about; "thou shall not steal?"
Jesus answers the question by summing all of the commandments into one; love. Love for God expressed in worship and love for other people expressed in caring for them and forgiving people when you are the one offended. Jesus said;
"Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

In a sentence; love is the fulfilment of the law, do love, fulfil the law.
