Description

In today's devotional, we see the different people continue to play their parts as Jesus approached his death on the cross. We saw the mob that came to get him in the dead of night do their part;
"And immediately, even as Jesus said this, Judas, one of the twelve disciples, arrived with a crowd of men armed with swords and clubs. They had been sent by the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the elders."
Mark 14:43 NLT. We saw the soldiers of the high priest who mocked, abused and beat him up, they did their part. We saw the high priest himself do his part, he sentenced him to death even though he knew he was innocent, along with the sanhedrin who agreed to the charge.
"Then the high priest tore his clothing to show his horror and said, “Why do we need other witnesses? You have all heard his blasphemy. What is your verdict?” “Guilty!” they all cried. “He deserves to die!”
Mark 14:63‭-‬64 NLT.
We also saw the men who were used to present false witnesses to try and entrap Jesus, they did their part. Lastly, after Jesus is sentenced, we see this little girl and the crowd outside the high priest's home pressure Peter to the point he denied he knew Jesus.

You might not have realised it but each one of us is playing our part when it comes to Jesus; whether it is about the world accepting or rejecting Jesus, or we ourselves denying him, we are playing our roles. Are you playing the right role?
