As we read about the trial, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus one more time, the challenge is for us to remind ourselves of the eternal consequences of his sacrifice and why Jesus did all of these for us. He didn't have to go to the cross, but he did. That is the reality no one can deny. Our assignment is simple, the great commission is to tell the whole world Jesus loves them, died on that cross as penalty for the sins of mankind, and that everyone who comes to him, will find salvation and rest for their souls. It is that simple. My prayer as we conclude reading the book of Mark is that like the disciples, we will each step out in faith to tell the world about Jesus; "And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.
Mark 16:20 NLT. There will be miraculous signs and wonders backing the message we share, Amen.
