Description

Matthew chapters 13 and 14 focused on the parables Jesus used to teach the people. A parable is not a riddle or puzzle, the goal is not to hide the truth. It is simply a story, often related to real life events that anyone truly listening can connect to. He shares on the farmer scattering seeds which was a illustration teaching us on how hearing the word is not enough, we must be looking to listen, understand and then apply the truths. If we do, there is a guaranteed reward Jesus says; "To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.
"
Matthew 13:12 NLT. "The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!”
Matthew 13:23 NLT. He also shared the parables like; the wheat and weeds, the Mustard seed, the yeast, the hidden treasure and pearl, and the parable of the fishing net. The lesson here is; there are real life lessons hidden in every parable Jesus shared, take out time today to meditate and think about what he was trying to teach the people through the stories.
