In today's devotional, we draw lesson from a warning Jesus shared with his disciples about being careful about the influence of the Pharisees and Sadducees;
"Later, after they crossed to the other side of the lake, the disciples discovered they had forgotten to bring any bread. “Watch out!” Jesus warned them. “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Matthew 16:5-6 NLT.
Though the disciples thought Jesus was talking about bread, he was instead referring to their influence, their teachings and lies.
"Then at last they understood that he wasn’t speaking about the yeast in bread, but about the deceptive teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
Matthew 16:12 NLT.
I want to apply this lesson to the influence, lies and opinions you find thrown at us daily on social media. You hear people again and again present their opinion as the truth. My encouragement, beware of men's opinion that negates the power in the word of God. Instead, commit to do the word of God.
