Description

Jesus' predictions of his death eventually comes to pass in this chapter when the religious leaders conspired and together with help from Judas, one of Jesus' disciples, arrested Jesus, they were able to arrest him. On the surface, the leaders were simply jealous of Jesus, but in hindsight, it allowed them to become tools for the devil to do his own work. Jesus' death however was predicted, he wasn't dragged to trial and then the cross, no, he laid down his life willing for you and me, for the sins of the whole world. He told the disciples earlier; “The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again. No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”
John 10:17‭-‬18 NLT. Jesus also said in today's read when he shared the communion with his disciples; "And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.
