Matthew chapters 2 through 4 tells us about the magis who visited Jesus and gave him and his parent gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. We then read about king Herod's brutal attempt to kill Jesus and the flight to and from Egypt. At every point, we noted that Jesus through his parents at this time was fulfilling several prophecies made 100s of years before. In chapter 3, we see the start of John the baptist ministry and the baptism of Jesus. Chapter 4 is about the temptation of Jesus by satan and the start of Jesus' ministry. We noted these words;
"Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them."
