In today's devotional, we read and learn about a variety of issues; the temptation of Jesus, the start of his ministry and call of the first disciples, the classic sermon on the mount covering topics such as; the beautitudes, teachings about believers being the salts and light, the law, anger, adultery, divorce, taking and making vows, revenge, love for enemies, how to give, and finally, prayer and fasting. On the prayer bit, Jesus gives us a template or model for prayer, not a mantra to be chanted. Those first words; "Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
