Description

In Matthew chapter 8, we see people continue to seek out Jesus especially for their healing;
"Large crowds followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside. Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”
Matthew 8:1‭-‬2 NLT.
However, at the end of the chapter, we see a different crowd who demanded that Jesus leave them alone.
"Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone."
Matthew 8:34 NLT.
Why? One crowd wanted to see the power of God, the other wanted nothing to do with God; what made them different? I find the answer in their response to Jesus. The crowd that wanted to see Jesus responded in faith and hope while the other crowd responded in fear. I noticed also that faith and fear were equally spread by the same crowd. Some of those who rejected Jesus never saw the demon possessed men by themselves, they simply went with the crowd. Which crowd are you following? Which company are you keeping; faith or fear?
