Revelation chapter 14 gives us several proleptic events that occur at the end of the ages. Yesterday, we saw three angels go forth declaring 3 proleptic events that were soon to occur. The last part of the chapter talks about the harvest of the Earth. The harvest is in two fold; there would be a first harvest by Christ himself and a second harvest into the great winepress of God's wrath; "Then I saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like the Son of Man. He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. Then another angel came from the Temple and shouted to the one sitting on the cloud, “Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come; the crop on earth is ripe.” So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the whole earth was harvested. After that, another angel came from the Temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. Then another angel, who had power to destroy with fire, came from the altar. He shouted to the angel with the sharp sickle, “Swing your sickle now to gather the clusters of grapes from the vines of the earth, for they are ripe for judgment.” So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and loaded the grapes into the great winepress of God’s wrath. The grapes were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse’s bridle.

Revelation 14:14-20 NLT. The first harvest are those who belong to Christ. The prophet John the baptist spoke about this, he said; “I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”
Matthew 3:11-12 NLT. In other words, these two harvests are a separation between those who belong with Christ in the kingdom, and those who will not partake of that kingdom. Also, the first harvest gathers the harvest into God's barn if you want to put it that way. The second harvest are depicted as being trampled in a winepress which usually signifies judgment and God's wrath against his enemies (Isaiah 63:1-5). The message cannot be clearer, the choice is ours; accepting Christ is your only way of escaping the coming judgment.
