Description

In today's devotional, Jesus sends a message to 2 more churches; Pergamum and Thyatira. Again, his messages starts with those jarring words; "I KNOW". Ephesus - I know all the things you do, Smyrna - I know about your suffering and your poverty. To Pergamum and Thyatira he says; Pergamum - I know where you live. Thyatira - I know all the things you do. What will Jesus say he knows about you? As for Pergamum, Jesus acknowledges their strengths; they were living in the midst of Satan and idol worship, yet they had stayed faithful to God. They also refused to deny their faith even in the face of serious persecution. However, he also had some works for them to improve on and changes to make. Their main error just like the church in Thyatira was tolerating those amongst them that were corrupting and leading others away from fellowship with the Lord. In Thyatira, it was new teachings they were calling deeper truths, but that was corrupting their church members. It is our duty to point out and resist evil so they don't take root around us. Not just that, learning from Jesus says to Thyatira, we must not allow our platforms and influences become a launch pad from where these errors proceeds from.
