In this episode, we review the components of a preoperative assessment for anesthesiology, including the important aspects of the history (using the ABCDE mnemonic: anesthetic history, allergies, breathing, circulation, drugs, endocrine and everything else), physical exam (using the ABC mnemonic... just to keep things easy: airway, breathing, and circulation including peripheral venous access) and investigations.
