Nephi prayed to know if the things his father, Lehi, were telling them were true. When Lehi had the vision of the Tree of Life, Nephi prayed to see it and know what it meant. Laman and Lemuel complained. They did not want to leave Jerusalem. They did not want to go back and get the Brass Plates.
