You need to know what you believe and why you believe it! Be ready! This is not just for the Pastors and Professors. The congregation looks at the Pastors, and the Pastors look at the Experts. It’s for ALL of us! Each of you!

William Barcley said : “No man escapes suffering, but for the Christian suffering cannot touch the thing which matters most of all…” You can’t take JESUS away from me.
How do we Revere Christ as Lord? Jesus is in His own category, The highest Place, the Greatest! There’s no one like Him! You don’t blend Him into what you value, He is ABOVE all of that and you value the things you value because He is LORD. That’s how it should be. He is in His OWN category. Revere Christ as Holy.
Ken Boa (Theologian): “In other words, be certain Jesus is Lord of your life & affirm your utter dependence upon Him”
God’s not asking you to give an airtight argument and defence - He’s asking you to present an airtight person, JESUS CHRIST! The personal JESUS, oftentimes can’t be explained and is often experienced through love, grace… One moment with God will change your Forever!
Many people make Jesus their SAVIOUR (Jesus save me from my SIN, SHAME, Addictions etc) but you have to make Jesus your LORD too.
BE READY! Be ready with a response that shows off, Jesus!
It says to ALWAYS be prepared - Greek word for Always is tricky, it means ALWAYS.
Don’t try to argue or attack them when you’re asked to give an answer for the HOPE you have. You’re trying to present JESUS to them, not win an argument.
You don’t need to be an expert, you just have to be fully devoted:) and be a HOPE HOLDER!
You need to know what/why
You need to be able to state it clearly
You need to be Gentle and Respectful
This is why it is important to make this faith YOUR OWN faith. It’s not your wife’s faith, or your friend’s faith, it’s yours!
Share YOUR story with people and if you have no clue where to start, try this:
- tell them WHO/WHAT you were before Jesus
- then WHEN you met Jesus
- Then HOW you’ve been since..
At the end of it all people want to know why you believe in Jesus.
