1 Peter 2: 4-10 ESV
'As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.'
1– YOU ARE A LIVING STONE
Matthew 16: 16 ESV “Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16: 18 ESV “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell[c] shall not prevail against it.”
Acts 2: 47 ESV 'The believers praised God and were respected by all the people. More and more people were being saved every day, and the Lord was adding them to their group.'
2– JESUS IS THE LIVING STONE & CORNERSTONE
Exodus 17: 6 ESV “Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.” And Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
1 Corinthians 10: 3-4 ESV “and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3: 11 ESV “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Acts 4: 11-12 ESV 'This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”'
