Dr. Shelley Meyer started out as a Registered Dietitian with a masters degree in Nutrition from the University of Florida, and then quickly discovered she wanted to learn more, and do more for her patients. She then went on to get her medical degree (Doctor of Osteopathy) from Kansas City University's College of Osteopathic Medicine, working first in an inner-city, high-volume clinic, and then branching out to have her own solo practice, and pursuing further training and certification in Functional Medicine. She now owns a small, micropractice for functional and family medicine membership practice in Denver, CO.
In this episode, Dr Meyer shares her path to creating a practice that combines her interests and supports her needs for autonomy. She shares multiple tools that helped her get comfortable creating a non-insurance based, direct model. Her motto is "Go Your Own Way!"
