When a woman shows vulnerability, it is accepted, because women are “supposed to be weak”. When a woman shows strength, it is celebrated, because we live in a modern world.
When a man is strong, it is expected, because they are “supposed to be tough”. But when men show vulnerability, it is unacceptable and embarrassing, because “they are not supposed to be weak.”
While masculinity has significant roles different from femininity, we imprisoned ourselves in certain cultures which cause more harm than good. And while genders should be complementary, we have confined ourselves in certain ideas which only divide us and create gender-bias and trauma.
