If you are not ready to be in a relationship, don't accept anything that could be misinterpreted as something else. He should make his feelings and intentions known and if if he does not, you should. Never lead him on.
This can be rejected respectfully:
"Thank you. I am honored to accept this, but I hope you don't feel that it means we're dating or otherwise involved. If so, I'll have to ask you to take it back."
It's better to be honest in the beginning about how you feel and what you are not comfortable with then to lead him on. Men are wired differently lol and to this type of guy, you accepting the gift means more to him.
