Description

Marc Prensky is a thinker, author and public speaker. His focus is on helping young people get things they need in the future world of empowerment.

Marc is passionate about helping the 2 billion kids in the world. Each is unique. The focus on helping kids had come about because Marc feels he never received the help and support he would have liked when he was young. The best gift a young person can get is when someone sees a young person, takes the time to know them and says to them: I see you for who you are and here are some recommendations for some things you could look at and do.

Young people are treated as pets and owned objects. Parenting should be about curation. Parents do not own their kids.

We have arrived at a place where young people have incredible capabilities but we have not worked out how the young can utilise this potential.

Marc’s vision is that the modern school for young people will involve hundred of projects that focus on what the individual is passionate.

What are your dreams? The traditional way has been to fill the youth up with all the old things. Marc prefers asking young people what they visualise and what they would like to do. Probe to find the motivation and drivers for the desires. Kids are thinking all the time—just opinions – no right or wrong.

Traditional education is fine for some of the population. Other cohorts need a different approach.

Leadership is about listening. It's hard to lead people if you don’t know where they want to go.
