For many years the myth of the 'war for talent' has been conventional wisdom. The idea of simply recruiting the 'best person' for a role has morphed into the obsession with 'Talent'. Recruitment officers and professionals have even given themselves fancy names - Talent Acquisition Consultant, Talent Advisor etc to reflect a change in language, but no real change in what they actually do. In this podcast, we argue that Talent is actually everywhere, but HRM has bought into the myth that it is scarce and avoids new innovative thinking in this space.
