I had the most beautiful connection with Nicole - we had never met before, and I instantly knew I just had to introduce her to YOU! When I asked her to send me a little about her, this is what I received:
"I was widowed by brain cancer in December 2019, while living in Japan.
I decided to pack up my 20-year life there and come back to support my parents and sister in Australia - Covid also hastened that decision.
I returned in May 2020 and at my deepest grief, I basically had a nervous breakdown. However, after facing my grief head-on and being very determined to feel all the grief feelings, I am now thriving.
Currently, I am a second-year uni student, studying social work. I want this forced change in my life to mean something by helping others. Studying has been a wonderful journey into self-understanding and realising that I can do a lot, even by myself.
I will not let my losses define me and I want to live a very full and fun life. I love my late husband yet I believe that widowhood is all about me.
I am a big believer in active grieving, a hater of toxic positivity, and a lover of widows helping other widows facing grief, and learn to live life again.
This is why Marie's philosophy resonates with me, too."
