We jump with two feet into our month-long look at western movies, beginning with a film that didn't' quite meet it's goals of being an epic classic, 1960's The Unforgiven! There's a lot to unpack with this one, including a troubled production, an unhappy cast and crew, and the end of HHL as a production company. Special note! The version we watched of this film was on Amazon Prime (Canada) and was a horrible transfer, showing lots of decay and a horrible pan'n'scan job that really affected the aspect ratio. Sam and Derek were both pretty critical of the cinematography, and certainly the quality of the transfer we saw GREATLY impacted our viewing experience, and the visual appeal of the film.
