Amidst the conflict in Gaza, where children are starving and families are living in constant fear, Irish Palestinians who have relatives still living in Palestine are facing their own trauma. They live in fear every day alongside their family in Palestine, hearing they are growing weaker every day and are having to step over dead bodies in the streets. One such Irish citizen, is Sherin Alsabbagh, a trainer with the GRETB in Ballaghaderreen and living in Ireland over 15 years. Sherin’s brother and young family are living in a house that is barely standing after been bombed and are having to search for stale food through streets of dead bodies. Sherin tells Adrianne what it is really like for people living in Gaza now and pleads with the Irish government to intervene and help bring her family and others here to safety.
