Beholding the Perfect Sovereignty of God
As the famine worsens, the need for the brothers to return to Egypt—and take Benjamin with them—becomes urgent. With Judah’s guarantee, Jacob’s sons finally head back to Egypt, where they once again face “the man,” the now-exalted Joseph. He invites them into his home for a feast, and strange details begin to surface: their previous food supply has been mysteriously paid for, and Benjamin is given five times the portion of the others. God's peculiar mercy is moving.
In this week’s message from Genesis 43, we begin to see true heart change. Judah steps up. The brothers return humbled. And Joseph responds with surprising kindness. Instead of payback, they encounter mercy. A mercy that isn’t earned—but freely given.
