Seattle was bursting at the seams with up and coming talent in the late 80s/early 90s that were making waves in the music scene. As we all know, there are four main bands at this time that defined the grunge era and what it stood for. One of those bands at front and center of it all is Nirvana; starring frontman and guitarist Kurt Cobain, bass player Krist Novoselic, and drummer Dave Grohl. Nirvana has been heralded as the face of grunge, as they were one of the first rock bands in Seattle to flip the script and make it commercially big with their music. They were a hit with the new generation of young adults coming out of the hair metal era of the 80s and into something they never heard before. Today we take a look at the members before they became Nirvana, how they became so successful, from Bleach to In Utero and to Kurt Cobain's untimely death in 1994.
