Getting into development with Career Gap

Most of my paid bootcamp students have career gaps and there are variety of reasons for the same.
Some were preparing for Govt jobs(like UPSC and MPSC) after engineering and 6 years passed in flash.
Some from electronics or mechanical background and did job in core sector only to get 15K per month and want to switch to development.
One housewife with ten year gap will also join the next batch. So, do a college professor with 20 years experience who is getting paid only 20K.
It would have been impossible for them to get a job in 2010, but today it is very much possible for anyone to become a web-app developer.
In 2010 most job were in big service companies with strict gap and education criteria.
But now most jobs are in startup and also freelancing. So, anyone and everyone with skills can become a web-app developer.
