When discussing the mind, as it relates to the spirit, there are 3 areas to consider. The conscious mind, the subconscious mind, and the unconscious mind. The enemy attacks all 3 areas of the mind. The Bible tells us in II Corinthians 10:5 to “Cast down imaginations, and everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” As Rev. Otis Tolbert would say, “Don’t let the devil ride, because he is going to want to drive.”
