Description

The other day I heard in the news that the Federal Roads Office had undertaken a new trial with a mobile bridge it had invented, which is used on highly frequented, narrow stretches of road in need of renovation. It works like this: the section in need of renovation is virtually covered by the bridge. This allows traffic to flow normally over the bridge, albeit slightly restricted due to the local speed reduction, while the necessary renovation work can be carried out safely underneath the bridge. The bridge will then be moved until the renovation work is completed. Sounds good. But the first attempt fell into disrepute because the gradient of the bridge was too steep and there were major tailbacks. One attempt. Publicly sharply criticised. And yet they didn't give up, made corrections where necessary and now things are better. Don't give up if it doesn't work as expected the first time.I wish you an extraordinary day!
