Bridges connect. They connect two areas that would otherwise be hard, difficult, or impossible to get from one side to the other. People are sometimes called bridge builders - for example, when they can reconcile opposing parties or connect people who don't understand each other. Peacemakers are bridge builders. But bridges are not places to stay or camp on but transit routes. Peacemakers sometimes feel the same way: they do enormously important work, but are quickly forgotten because the two sides are more important than the connection between them. This can be frustrating because one invests a lot, does a lot of good, and yet receives little in return. Jesus once said that those who make peace are called God's children. If, after successful peacemaking, you are overcome by the sadness of not being appreciated for your efforts, take comfort in that, you child of God!
I wish you an extraordinary day!
