If you are not vegetarian or vegan, you might like a chicken wing grilled on the fire or on the barbecue. It might be well seasoned and really crispy. It might sound delicious and make your mouth water. And not without good reason. But... when you eat something like that, you rarely think about what it takes to get to that food. There is a living being. That is usually slaughtered and then gutted or at least cut up. This - I think - mentally quite demanding work is done for us by the butcher. I probably couldn't do it. So the pleasure on our plate has not only a financial price, but also an emotional one. In order for us to be full, to enjoy, in this case an animal had to die and someone had to slaughter and prepare it. For us to live eternally, the same thing had to happen: someone died, was raised and now gives us eternal life. Thanks be to God.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
