When we were children in Germany and visited relatives, we always had coffee and cake in the afternoon. That was part of it, it was a given, like brushing your teeth regularly. I never doubted whether we would get a piece of delicious cake on any given day or not, no matter where we were invited. Such rituals give security, stability and as human beings we need them. Rituals or rhythms, regularities, the familiar. We are beings who need a certain stability to find a foothold in life and from this foundation we shape our everyday life. So relative, subjective values are not enough. We all need something objective and universally valid somewhere. For example, the protection of life. Or truth. Yes, truth. I am convinced that it is not relative or merely subjective. Truth is not just a concept. Truth is a person. In the Bible, Jesus says that he is this truth. This solid, unshakeable.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
