Description

There is the verb to contradict. I contradict someone and mean that I disagree with their statements and have a different view or attitude or opinion. Then there is the noun contradiction. You might think that this is simply the nounised verb. But I don't think that's the case. For me, a contradiction is something that is inconsistent and not coherent. In other words, something that expresses that there is no agreement and no reliability. So someone says this on the one hand, but demonstrates something else or says something else that doesn't agree with the first statement. In my opinion, this undermines the trustworthiness of the person or thing. I consider contradicting to be important and right in part because it recognises one's own responsibility. However, a contradiction shatters trust. So my tip for today: contradict yes, where appropriate. But avoid contradiction!

I wish you an extraordinary day!
