Description

I had the privilege of taking a walk along a lake the other evening. It was a clear night but hardly any moonlight. The path led through a forest bordering the lake. It was very dark. You couldn't really see the path and the natural ground was correspondingly uneven, i.e. not flat. In such a situation, you walk more carefully, avoiding tripping and hurting yourself. Because I knew how dark it could get, I had taken a small lamp with me as a precaution. This allowed me to illuminate the area immediately in front of me. That helped enormously, I already felt much more confident in my steps. Still, I didn't walk as quickly as I did during the day. And I think that is wise, appropriate to the circumstances. In a psalm prayer it says: God, your word is a light on my path. That's how I understand it too: God's speaking as enough light for one or two next steps. That is enough. And then I need a new promise from him again. And so I move forward safely in dark times in my life. I hope you do too.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
