A glider is one that is brought up to altitude with the help of another aircraft, more precisely pulled, then releases and begins to hover by itself. I find it fascinating that it can stay in the air without an engine and thus glide at high altitude. But for this to happen, another powerful aircraft is needed that can bring both planes to the appropriate altitude. I think we experience this again and again in our own lives: others bring us into situations or circumstances that are then so favourable for us that it feels as if we are walking by ourselves or through which we can then simply glide. Then there is the danger that we forget that it is not of our own accord that we are where we are or have what we have. Perhaps a day to become aware of how much one is actually given in life and how little we contribute ourselves in certain areas.
