Description

I was listening to a podcast the other day on the occasion of the Queen's death. It was also about the distinction between monarchy and democracy. It made me realise that the relationship I have as a citizen with the government - whether it is a royal house or a government or parliament - is quite different. A king is more personal because his government is linked to his life and his family is part of the government, so he is engaged with his whole being. In a democracy, the rulers are only responsible for a limited period of time. For me, the latter is more distant than the former. This made me think because I realised that the same fits in the faith, in the religious sphere: A god or several are more distant for me, but a king - as Jesus says about himself - is much closer, more accessible. This thought, or rather the aha effect from it, the awareness, touched me very much.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
