I was taught that you wear hiking boots when you go hiking. This is so that you have a good grip on the terrain. It makes sense to me that the higher and more stable shoes protect and stabilise the ankles and the corresponding joint. But if I were to walk on scree or ice, then - according to my thesis - even the high and stable shoes would not really be of any use to me. To a certain extent, the shoes are only as good as the ground is stable and has a good grip for the shoes. Nevertheless, hiking shoes are probably still better on ice or in a scree field than a half-shoe or trainer. The apostle Paul once used the soldier's armour as an image for the conduct of life. The soldier's boots serve as an image for the bond with the good news of Jesus and his resurrection. I also believe that this good news gives support in the rough terrain that life brings with it from time to time.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
