We are in an election year in Switzerland this year. Political parties are currently positioning themselves to be as successful as possible in the national elections in autumn. My rough classification is as follows: left stands for justice, centre for liberal, right for security, and green for ecology and nature. And in this field of tension, a parliament is then formed with the corresponding representatives, who in turn govern our country with the Federal Council. Complicated and very broadly based, and not infrequently blocking themselves. It's easier with a monarchy. The king rules. Is he left or right or green or in the middle? What kind of king is he? I was deeply impressed the other day when I read Psalm 72, in which the still reigning King David prayed for his son and successor. The prayer is powerful and actually covers all the concerns mentioned. Recommended to read and pray over. Also for our politicians.
