Do you prefer going to the sea or the mountains? These are, in a way, opposites. In the mountains, solitude, often cool and sometimes nasty, barren. And then the sea with often very special and often also lush flora and fauna and in popular places very populated. And of course warm. Mostly. I noticed recently when reading the account of Jesus' ministry that he visited both places regularly. So he often retreated to the mountains alone in prayer. We know little about what he did there and how long he stayed there. And then he had many moments by the sea, where he allowed communion with sometimes large crowds, where he found his friends and where all kinds of signs and wonders happened. I think that both places were important for him and complemented each other. So we too need different places at different times - for ourselves alone and with others.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
