In the past, aeroplanes had these mighty propellers that turned enormously fast during flight and thus made it possible for the aeroplane to fly. In English, to propel means to propel. This fits very well because the propeller does indeed propel the aircraft. Interesting that the propeller does nothing else. But taken on its own, it can't function at all. It cannot propel itself. There are no isolated propellers. It always needs a counterpart that can be driven. In our everyday lives, we sometimes feel driven, stressed, no longer free. And there are such hostile drivers, propellers: expectations of others or your own expectations of yourself. They oppress us. Do you know your drivers? I find it hopeful that the prophet Isaiah long ago saw in God the one who breaks the whip of the enemy driver and sets us free. Read about it in chapter 9.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
