Two groups of musicians are particularly well represented at the Basel Fasnacht: Tambourines and piccolo players. At Fasnacht, costumes and larvae - the correct term for masks - are worn. A tambour can be completely disguised, including his face. A piccolo player, on the other hand, not entirely. There must be a recess in his larva for the mouthpiece of the piccolo he plays. The larva then looks a bit unusual: If you only see the person in the disguise and don't know that this recess in the larva is for the instrument, you would be surprised and probably find the mask rather ugly or unpleasant. But if you then see the music playing, this is no longer a question. Sometimes we don't always know all the circumstances and backgrounds of others and wonder about their behaviour or even judge it. Here, analogous to the carnival example, restraint is perhaps called for today in particular. Do you succeed in this?
I wish you an extraordinary day!
