The pavement is a demarcation from the roadway to the space for pedestrians. Thus, the traffic space should be safe. Should... In one village there were a lot of accidents involving people. The pavement was made higher and more clearly demarcated. It got worse. Finally, the pavement was removed: there was only one area for pedestrians and vehicles. Accidents were immediately reduced significantly. The effect: when there is a lack of clarity, people act more carefully. It is the same with regulations or the commandments in the Bible: it is not a matter of blind obedience in the sense that everything is permitted up to here, only after that I am a transgressor. I can also violate in the legal sphere. It is about understanding what is behind the rules, their intention. Understanding them, accepting them and living according to them - and that can sometimes be flexible, as in the shared traffic area mentioned above. In other words, accepting and living inwardly instead of fulfilling one's duty with inner resistance.
