Description

A figure of eight in a bicycle wheel means that the wheel is no longer running true because it is "wobbling". This happens when the rims are deformed because an external influence has caused this deformation and thus twisted the entire wheel. To prevent this from happening, or in the ideal state, the spokes serve to keep the wheel in a balanced tension frame to enable optimum riding. Where the spokes join the rims, they are secured by spoke bolts or tensioners. These can then be used to change the tension ratios in the wheel - for example with a figure of eight in the wheel. So a practised hand knows how the spokes need to be tightened so that the geometry of the wheel is restored. Small screws, subtle corrections with a big effect. We sometimes need this in our everyday lives too: small corrections here and there in our lifestyle to make our lives smoother again.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
