Description

For some months now, the world has been looking with concern at the Middle East, where there is unfortunately a lot of violence. The flag of Israel contains the Star of David. I once looked up what it stands for. One of the things I found out was that the downward-pointing triangle symbolises that man has received his life from God, while the upward-pointing triangle symbolises that man will return to God. The six smaller peripheral triangles stand for the six days of creation and the common, larger part in the centre for the seventh, the day of rest. I find this remarkable. No symbolism of the power of the people or the ruler or any other autocratic claim. It is an appreciative and, in a certain sense, humble reminder of where man comes from and where he is going and to whom he owes his life. A place that puts this at its centre actually deserves peace. No wonder it is so controversial due to the arrogance of man.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
